Payment Options

Lubbock Power and Light offers more payment options than any other utility serving Lubbock.  The following 6 payment options are available to our customers.

  1. Bank Draft - Where customers complete a form, attach a voided check and mail them back to LP&L to have their bank account automatically drafted each month to pay their bill. This option will begin the 1st billing after receipt of the form and voided check.
  2. On-line Credit Card and E-Check - Where customers have the ability to pay their bill on-line (Pay LP&L) using their credit card via the Online Payment Center.  Processing happens immediately once confirmation number has been generated.  Customers should read the Please Note section for updated information about the Online Payment Center.
  3. Pay By Phone - Where customer have the ability to pay their bill by phone.  Customers can access the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telephone system by calling (806) 775-3409. The Payment by Phone service allows LP&L customers to process credit card or electronic check (ACH) transactions using a standard touch-tone phone or cell-phone.
  4. 3rd Party Banking Checks - Where customers use on-line bill paying options provided by their bank to issue checks or electronic transfers. Processing happens as soon as LP&L receives the funds and transfer timing may vary by bank.
  5. Check By Mail - Where the customer returns their "return stub" attached to their bill, with their customer information on it, and a check for payment in the envelope provided, via the postal system.  Customers should mail their payment 5 days in advance to avoid late penalties for past due bill amounts. Customers should also ensure their check is completed in blue or black ink.  Some financial institutions will return checks to LP&L if they are not completed in blue or black ink and a returned check will delay your payment.
  6. Payment In Person - Where customers have 2 locations to pay their bill in person.  Customers have the convenience of staying in their automobile by driving through the drive-up teller lanes or walking into the office.  Payments are processed immediately.
