Lubbock Power and Light's
Mission is to provide customers with reliable competitive electric service
that is responsible, emphasizes integrity, helps keep the tax rate low,
promotes development and community service.
- To accomplish this mission, LP&L is divided into
four divisions, each
focusing, and specializing on a particular part of delivering the
reliable electric service that its customers have come to trust.
- Within the four divisions of Administration, Business Office,
Distribution and Production, there are thirteen specific departments
working to ensure the customer's needs are met. The following is
a
listing of each department and their guiding mission:
Administration Division
Administration
To provide customers with quality, reliable, competitive electric service
which is responsive, emphasizes integrity, helps keep the tax rate low,
promotes economic development, and promotes community service.
Promotion and Sales
Promote customer growth and retention through integrity, commitment
to customer service and satisfaction, community service, diversified
innovative teamwork, and shared ownership with our customers.
Environmental, Health, and Safety
The mission of electric EHS
is to assist and offer resolutions to departments in identifying, reporting
and educating employees on environmental, health,
and safety issues in the electric utility division, under the supervision
of the division’s Chief Operations Officer.
Business Office Division
Customer Service
To work as a team to provide
high quality customer service that is responsive to customer requests,
produces accurate, timely statements, and provides
accurate records of all customer transactions. Satisfy LP&L customers
and enhance its market share thereby increasing revenues, and LP&L
reserves.
Field Service
To provide high quality service
which is responsive to customer requests. Produce accurate, timely
statements. Provide accurate record of all customer
transactions, and ensure proper collection of all revenues. Promote LP&L
and enhance its market share. Promote community service.
Distribution Division
Customer Service
Assure customer satisfaction and system reliability through the safe,
timely and dedicated attention to system operations, trouble shooting,
service restorations, customer assistance and revenue metering activities.
Underground
Assure customer satisfaction and system improvement through the safe,
timely, efficient construction of reliable underground systems and equipment.
Substations
Assure the reliability and availability of electric service through
dedicated service and attention to the operation, testing, maintenance
and construction of electric distribution substations, communication
systems and control systems.
Overhead
Assure customer satisfaction and system improvement through the safe,
timely, efficient construction of reliable overhead systems and equipment.
Meter Shop
To ensure customer satisfaction
and maximize all revenues by providing accurate metering systems, equipment
and records. To ensure the protection
and safety of employees by dedicated attention to the testing of lineman’s
rubber gloves and related accessories.
Engineering
Assure system reliability and customer satisfaction providing timely,
accurate, innovative designs and technical support for the construction,
maintenance and operation of the electric distribution system.
Production Division
Operations
Responsible for supplying electricity to Lubbock Power and Light customers
utilizing the most economical mix
of self-generated and purchased power.
Maintenance
The electric production maintenance section ensures the production of
reliable power by performing preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs,
annual inspections, major overhauls, and improvements to all Lubbock
Power and Light generating facilities.
