Electrical Engineer Position Available

 

LUBBOCK POWER & LIGHT, the municipally owned electric utility of the CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, a home rule municipal corporation, is seeking and Electrical Engineer (Job #50956) to work in the Electric Distribution Division.  The position is open until filled and has a pay range of  $35,875.00 - $98,252.46 annually.  The position will perform professional level design and project management of electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects including customer contact, field investigation, analysis, design, preparation of plans and specifications, supervision of engineering staff, and coordination with construction and operations staff. Qualified candidates should have; any combination of education and experience equivalenHTTP/1.1 100 Continue t to completion of a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with an additional four years of experience in electric distribution engineering; possession of a Texas Driver’s License; knowledge of the principles and practices of electrical engineering; knowledge of principles and practices of electric utility design, construction and operation; ability to perform professional level electrical engineering duties; ability to communicate effectively with others; ability to supervise the work of others; ability to maintain records and prepare reports; ability to use a variety of computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, database, CAD, and simple programming; ability to use and interpret data from a variety of electrical and electronic instruments and devices.; performs job duties in a way that promotes a positive image of Lubbock Power and Light; demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and delivers exemplary customer service. Incumbents in this classification may be certified as an “Engineer in Training”. An incumbent will attain a classification of Electrical Engineer upon registration as a “Professional Engineer”. A comparable out of state Driver’s License will be accepted during the application/selection process; however, the applicant must be in possession of a Texas Driver’s License on or before their hire date.
