Project Helping Hand

Appliances

"Easier Savings and Easy Chores"

Turn off anything you're not using. This includes appliances, televisions, VCR's, computers and LIGHTS!

Refrigerator: Give the unit breathing room, clean the coils, and don't set temperatures too low.

Fresh foods keep at 37 to 42 degrees, frozen foods at 0 to 5 degrees.

Defrost refrigerators and freezers before ice buildup becomes too thick.

If you have a microwave oven, use it for reheating and cooking small quantities.

Use ceiling fans and room fans in occupied rooms.  Also keep interior doors open to help with air circulation.

In the summer, do laundry, vacuuming, cooking etc. early in the morning or late in the evening when the outdoor temperature is cooler.
