"Cool
Ways to Save"
Heating and Air conditioners:
In West Texas, it is
recommended that you inspect, clean or replace filters monthly. It is also
recommended that you provide shade for your air conditioner unit outside and
keep weeds and debris away to ensure proper air flow on a regular
basis.
In the Winter, keep
the thermostat set at 65 degrees or lower when the house is occupied and
set the thermostat even lower when the house is unoccupied.*
In the Summer, keep the thermostat set at
78 degrees or higher when the house is occupied and set the thermostat
even higher when the house is unoccupied.*
Installing a
programmable thermostat is a good inexpensive option to help you manage your
temperature settings.
*It is recommended
that you not allow the home to heat or cool when it is occupied more
than 8 degrees either way from your comfort zone.
