LP&L Launches Web Video on
How to Read Your Electric and Water Meter
(Lubbock, TX)
– Never question another electric or water bill again.
Lubbock Power and Light (LP&L) is making you the expert when it
comes to reading your LP&L electric meter and City of Lubbock water meter.
LP&L has placed educational videos on their Web site at www.lpandl.com
explaining how to read your LP&L electric meter and City of Lubbock water meter.
In the video, Tracy Rollins, the meter reading supervisor for
LP&L, demonstrates how to read both meters in only five minutes.
LP&L Public Information Officer Chris Sims hopes the videos will teach
LP&L customers two things.
“We want customers to learn how to read their meter to verify their
usage when they have a question before they have to take their time to
call or visit LP&L,” Sims said.
“We also want to remind customers about reading meters safely.”
Sims said customers can read the electric meter without touching the
meter or any of the lines surrounding it.
Customers can also read the water meter without having to place
their hands in the water meter box.
“There could be some lively and dangerous critters like spiders in water
meter boxes, and of course there are always dangers around electricity,”
Sims said.
Sims hopes as LP&L customers learn how to read their meters, they will
want to try new approaches to conservation.
To conserve and save money, Sims suggests using programmable
thermostats, fluorescent or LED light bulbs and consistently checking
your air conditioning filter monthly and changing them quarterly.
