Lubbock
Power & Light (LP&L) To Assist With Electric Restoration Services In
Tulia, Texas
Lubbock, TX -
| LUBBOCK, Texas – Lubbock Power &
Light has responded to the need to restore electric service in Tulia,
Texas after the weekend Tornado damaged electric distribution lines and
equipment leaving much of the area hardest hit without electricity. On
Sunday April 22, 2007 at 10:30 am LP&L sent equipment, trucks and nine
professional overhead, underground and service employees to Tulia to
assist with the recovery efforts. LP&L Chief Executive
Officer, Gary Zheng said that: “LP&L is glad to help our neighbors
in Tulia restore electricity as soon as possible and we know that
they would do same thing for us if a Tornado came through Lubbock”. |

Lubbock Power & Light, a municipally owned entity of the City of Lubbock
is separately governed by an Electric Utility Board appointed by the
Lubbock City Council. LP&L has approximately two hundred employees working
toward generating and distributing electrical service for the citizens of
Lubbock, Texas. LP&L distributes over 95,000 monthly utility statements
for electric, water, sewer, solid waste and storm water services. LP&L has
provided the lowest cost and most reliable electricity in Lubbock for more
than 90 years
