LP&L Rate
Structure Change
Lubbock, TX
–
LUBBOCK, Texas – Lubbock Power and Light (LP&L)
proposed a new retail base rate that will result in an average annual 3.1
percent increase effective June 1, 2007.
The annual average residential bill for a customer
using 1,000 kilowatt hours a month will rise by $2.90.
Some customer groups could see different increases
depending on their class of service.
The Lubbock City Council approved the rate structure
change on May 24, 2007.
In addition to the rate structure change, LP&L
expired a fuel surcharge of 4.5 percent in May 2007 and will expire a
second fuel surcharge of 2.8 percent in the Fall 2007, resulting in
potential customer savings in fuel charges of over 7.3 percent.
This is LP&L’s first increase in the retail electric
base rate for LP&L electric customers since 1986.
